Home Teaching and stuff as of late.

I love home teaching. I didn't know what to expect but I've had a great experience so far with it.

The families are stellar. 2 of the 3 families have wonderful musicians, so it is very easy for me to relate and get along with them.

My companion Robby is such a killer dude. He and I get along swimmingly and we always are laughing about random stuff when heading to their homes. I'm very fortunate to be paired up with another like-minded individual.

------------
As of late = I was hired off of my contract and am now full-time salaried at my company. It's a bit of an adjustment because I get paid every two weeks now which I haven't had to deal with since I worked at DigIsle back in CA (2000-2002). So these two weeks are the adjustment period. I think it'll be okay. Not overly worried.

Work is busy as can be. Everyone's jittery for launch and trying to go through everything with a fine-toothed comb. Makes for stressful randomization when trying to work on projects, too.

I'm working towards 6days/week as I did back in 2004 when I dumped a bunch of weight and was on the path to being in acceptable shape.

I now try to work out at lunch, have a shower, then grab a decent lunch (like 1/2 sandwich and a cup of soup) from down the hall. I'm at 3-4 days a week of working out now and I def feel better. Of course I can do more than that, just working up to it.

-----

Gnarly incident at home last night. I walk into the bathroom and it is -HOT- in there. I'm like man what on earth is going on here... I open the closet door and the washer/dryer combo is almost burning to the touch. It's 12:30am as it is... I try and wrestle the machine out of the closet so I can attempt to unplug it, but my bathroom is pretty small and it wasn't an easy feat. Naturally the power plug is down by the baseboards so I couldn't just reach down. Not to mention the top of the dryer was hot!

I call maintenance to see if they could do something. I get the maintenance man's attractive-sounding daughter on the phone because his English isn't that great. She was pretty reassuring about getting it taken care of and advised me to flip the breaker which is in the other bedroom.

I really thought that confounded machine would've caught fire or at least melted some wall if I hadn't been advised to do that. Was more worried about the kitties than anything.

Da Corparayshan!

Oh man I just bought tix to go see them next month and I am so amped.
Hopefully there won't be the B.O. guy there stinking up the place like last time.

I had so much fun last time with you.

Auditions and Henry Rollins

So this was just a dream I remembered from last night, mind you.

But I was auditioning for a movie and for some reason Henry Rollins was one of the panelists.

I chose to do the ever so amusing monologue from Confessions of a Teenage Renegade (youtube it).

Henry was cracking up and so were the other people in the room.

I don't know if I got the part or not but I had to stifle laughter during the audition so I didn't go out of character.

Also did the 'weak wakeup laughter'. Ask me about it if you don't know what that means.

Charlie Bartlett

I enjoyed this movie.

Some quite intense scenes. Some very funny.

Robert Downey Jr rose up my list of most intense, capable and stirring actors I know of.
Incredible performance.

Worth a view.

Ich will dich finden

Sie wissen.

Sie hat kein idee.

Mir ist dein und du bist mein.

Flieg mir sehr weit eines Tages.

Kennst du das nicht aber ich will dich finden.

Ich bin deinen enkelsohn und du meine grossmutter.

The Cost of Education

Intense!

In a fleeting moment this morning, waiting for the snow-laden Seattle drivers to make their way through, I started to look at a college I want(ed) to go to.

The cost has much skyrocketed. Now, the Conservatory was pricey enough (thank goodness I had such a great scholarship), but this particular university was around 50k/year for the whole shmere.

Crazy! That's just for undergrad. But it is a prestigious school so it'd probably be worth it.

Anyways, just pondering.

haha Pithy

One way to be my journey, this way could be my book of days.

(Cue Dramatic Music)

Actually this tune isn't half bad.
I remember my World Music teacher at WSU going off on Enya because of how overprocessed it all is. I agreed with him but on the same token for that ethereal easy listening with some vox might as well give it a try.
